At the recent Douglas City Council annual meeting, Green Party councillor Falk Horning was reaffirmed as Chair of the Environmental Services Committee and also appointed Chair of the Pensions Committee.
In addition to these roles, he will continue serving on the Executive Committee and represent Douglas on the Eastern District Civic Amenity Site Joint Committee .
Councillor Horning, representing Douglas North, has been a proactive advocate for environmental sustainability and community engagement. His mission emphasises championing economic development, fostering a vibrant community, and enhancing natural heritage, all while ensuring cost-efficient public services and transparent decision-making .
Beyond his council duties, Falk is deeply involved in environmental initiatives. He serves as Chairperson of the Isle of Man Woodland Trust, Chair of Zero Waste Mann, and is a member of Isle of Man Friends of the Earth . Notably, he has led campaigns like ‘Love Where You Live,’ encouraging community-led environmental stewardship.
His continued leadership in these roles underscores his commitment to environmental issues and community well-being in Douglas.
