On Wednesday 22 May 2019, MHK for Ayre & Michael Tim Baker, arguably in a provocative manner, suggested that the motion before Tynwald for net zero Isle of Man carbon emissions by 2035 was a precursor to policies such as banning the TT.

Following the announcement of a Climate Emergency, the Isle of Man Green Party has written to the Isle of Man Government inviting confirmation that the 2015 United Nations Paris Agreement on Climate Change will be extended to the Isle of Man.
