Green Party Calls for Isle of Man to Extend Paris Agreement

Following the announcement of a Climate Emergency, the Isle of Man Green Party has written to the Isle of Man Government inviting confirmation that the 2015 United Nations Paris Agreement on Climate Change will be extended to the Isle of Man.

Leader of the Isle of Man Green Party, Andrew Newton, has written on behalf of the party, to each minister, including the chief minister , asking him to start the process with the British Government.

Since 2015, 195 states have signed up to the agreement, which aims to decrease the effects of global warming and tackle greenhouse gases.

Speaking on an interview with Manx Radio's Perspective programme, Andrew said there was no reason why the Island shouldn't be included.
